A visitor to Crumlin Road Gaol was left spooked after spotting a ‘ghost’ over the weekend.

Sarah Murphy, 33, was visiting with her family from Cork along with her daughter and parents.

The ‘man in uniform’ was seen in the ‘B wing’ of the gaol.

Sarah told Belfast Live: “All the tours go down C wing, so I just stood at the gates to B wing and snapped a few photos just in case.

“The wing was in darkness, there was nobody down there. But I noticed it when we got back to where we were staying and I had a look through the photos and zoomed in.

“I know that there was nobody alive down there at the time.

“To me it looks like a man in uniform looking down the corridor. You can even see the chin strap of his hat.”

It’s not the first time visitors have spotted something spooky in the gaol.

Back in 2016, Carly Foster saw what she believed to be the ghost of a little girl.

Speaking to Belfast Live at the time, Queens University student Carly said: “I would be quite a sceptical person, that’s why I was so taken aback, that’s why it freaked me out.

“It was the wing I felt the most weird and unsettled in and it was freezing cold.”
